OUR TEACHERS
Our teaching team is comprised of experienced, talented educators that reflect the global world we live in. Together, our educators create a safe learning environment that encourages and challenges children to do their very best.
MS JOANNE Principal (BA)
I am Ms Joanne, and I am a passionate and dedicated educator with extensive experience in teaching in Canada and now Hong Kong for the past 7 years. I’ve always had a special love for teaching kids and creating engaging learning experiences. Eight years ago, when I first started to call Hong Kong home, I noticed many young children feeling defeated, exhausted, and unmotivated while learning and also achieving underwhelming results. This began to drive my desire to make a positive impact. I am committed, with my team of dedicated teachers, to creating an educational environment that delivers accelerated, impactful lessons through creativity and exploration.
When I’m not at The Learning Lab, I love to travel and cook for friends. You may even bump into me, hiking up the Peak early in the morning with my loveable little dog Charlie or shopping at the flower market in Prince Edward. I hope to work with you soon.
MR ARTHUR (BA., MFA in Creative Writing)
Hi Parents,

I am Mr. Arthur and I provide advanced, specialized writing classes here at TLL.
I completed my MFA in Creative Writing, under the guidance of a Pulitzer Prize Winner and Booker Prize listed writer. I am also a former Visiting Fellow at City University and have mentored students from top HK Schools to gain entrance to prestigious UK and US boarding schools such as Tonbridge School and Milton Academy. I look forward to working with your children to achieve their academic potential.

MS. DENISE (Double BA, TEFL)
Hi parents and kiddies! My name is Ms. Denise and I am absolutely passionate about teaching. Creating a positive and friendly teaching environment is essential in an educational setting and that is what I strive to create during every lesson.
Building upon my BA in psychology and BA Honours in Management, I decided to serve underprivileged communities and engaged in charitable organisations as a project manager. I obtain a teaching certification (TEFL) from i-to-i and decided to pursue my fondness for teaching. I live by this quote; “Teachers who love teaching teach children to love learning”.
I hope to see my little friends soon!
MS KRIS (BA)
Hi kids, parents and guardians! I'm Teacher Kris, a goal oriented and loving teacher.
I have been teaching for over 10 years now. My teaching experiences in Hong Kong vary from teaching playgroup early childhood development to university students teaching phonics, writing, grammar, interactive English and interview classes too.
I have been blessed to be able to understand the world’s differences and to be able to see what life brings from west to east. I enjoy dancing, singing, crafting and exploring different things. Life is perfectly imperfect, however, looking back at the experiences I went through, I now can say, I am ready to share what I have – the skills, knowledge, and most of all, love.
MS ANNA
(BA)
Hello my name is Anna! I was born and raised in Canada and graduated from York University with a B.A. Honors in psychology.
I’ve always felt driven to be an educator, especially for elementary level students.
I have spent several years teaching in China, specializing in literacy subjects related to phonics and grammar and have continued thereafter in Hong Kong.
My focus is to ensure classes are fun and interesting for my students.
I look forward to shaping young minds here at The Learning Lab!

MR PERRY (BA., English Lit)

Hello everyone. My name is Perry, and I am excited to be teaching in Hong Kong. I have been an ESL instructor in Seoul, South Korea for the past 7 years. During that time, I’ve had the fantastic opportunity to teach kids from many diverse age groups and with a variety of needs. I was born in New York City before moving to South Georgia, where I would spend my summers at the river.
My education background saw me study English Literature in university and since then I have gone on to edit and write articles for different publications alongside my teaching work. I look forward to teaching the thought processes to writing and fun ways we can use English in our every day lives.

MS ROE (BA, MA (ECE))
Hey there, students and parents! I am Ms. Roe, your super fun English teacher with over 14 years of experience. I've got a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a passion for lifelong learning. I believe teaching is a two-way street, where we all learn something new along the way. That's why I treat my students like friends! I love cartoons and playing in ball pools because keeping that inner child alive is important to me. Let's make learning an exciting adventure together and create a classroom where everyone shines. Get ready for an unforgettable lesson time filled with laughter, learning, and lots of fun!

MS ELAINE (BA., TEFL)
Hi Children, Parents and Guardians!
I am Miss Elaine and I am a graduate from the University of Toronto and an former French International School student in Hong Kong! I have now been teaching children for almost 7 years, most recently as an NET teacher at an international school in Taiwan.
Growing up between multiple countries (Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong) has allowed me to appreciate our vast diversity and in turn, helps me to communicate across all ages and to understand the needs of students from different backgrounds.
I look forward to sharing the building blocks of English with you as you continue to grow.
Stay curious my little friends!

MS JANICE
I'm Ms Janice, The Office Manager here at The Learning Lab! I am always ready to answer your questions or to assist families and students as best I can.
